Defense signs for renewal of IT backbone

The Groundbreaking IT (GrIT) program must ensure a completely renewed IT infrastructure. Defense will immediately start building future-proof IT infrastructure in 2021. Today State Secretary Barbara Visser signed a contract for this with IBM on behalf of the Athena consortium (IBM / Atos / Unica).

Better radio connections for the military

Captain at sea Mark Spierings and Haim Delmar of Elbit Systems signed the contract. Soldiers with combat functions will soon receive a secure personal radio (PNR-1000), which they use to network with their group and platoon. The group commanders also receive a robust tablet (Raptor), with which they can share data digitally. The purchase is part of the VOSS project (Improved Operational Soldier System).
